DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES : Responsible for vessel repair activities. Research, specify purchase, and coordinate delivery of vessel equipment supplies, parts, and services.
Assist in the implementation of procedures, maintenance of documentation, and compliance with
regulatory and statutory requirements of flag state, port state, classification society (DNV/GL),
International Maritime Organization (including International Safety Management System), and
ceanographic research vessel trade groups.
Responsible for maintaining and ensuring the quality control of the fleet's Preventive Maintenance
System, specifically NS-5.
Assist the Vessel Fleet Manger with generating reports after major repairs, dry dockings and
equipment surveys.
Other duties as assigned by Management.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE : Bachelor's Degree in Marine Engineering or Technically related Degree or equivalent combination of Technical School training and experience.
Minimum 5 years of experience as Marine Engineer
Proficiency in the use of office administration software
Experience with procurement and logistics
Conduct hull inspections, enter confined spaces, and survey damage (crouching, bending,
crawling is required)
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision or guidance
Possess or ability to obtain both Passport and TWIC at time of hire
Pass full physical exam, background checks and have valid driver's license with acceptable
motor vehicle record
US Citizen or Permanent US Resident
Must be fluent in speaking, reading and writing the English language

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
